Earlier this month, we were proud to unveil the 2016 STEM Premier Top 100 students.
Hailing from all across the nation, the students of the Top 100 represent a wide variety of STEM talent, skills, and backgrounds.
We wanted to get to know these students better and showcase the personalities behind the STEM Premier platform!
Our first spotlight is on a young man from Albany, New York who can speak four languages and has won several computer science competitions. This straight-A student is already enrolled part-time in college classes and has his eyes set on some of the country’s most prestigious universities after graduating from high school.
High School: Niskayuna High School (NY)
Class year: Junior
For fun, I like to...develop FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array)-based digital electronics projects.
If I could meet anyone in the world, past or present, I would want to meet...William Barton Rogers, famous scientist and founder of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The best teacher I’ve ever had was/is...my former electronics teacher, who (accidentally) got me interested in my current hobby/primary interest.
The last app I downloaded on my phone was...one I wrote, that sends image data to an FPGA for one of several image processing algorithms.
Something you wouldn't know about me is...I informally co-teach my school's Digital Electronics class.
After high school, my next step is...college, although I still do not know which.
In ten years, I see myself... developing real-world electronic designs and products.
My greatest dream is...to lead the design of a production silicon device.
The thing I like about STEM Premier most is... the responsive user interface.
We wish Andrey luck as he continues his college search and pursues his passion in computer science. We’re proud to have him be a STEM Premier user and part of the 2016 STEM Premier Top 100.
